
YOUNG FARMER CHALLENGE
Grab 3 mates to join the fun of the Young Farmer Challenge!

The Young Farmer Challenge is a competition of the talent, skills, techniques and safe work methods that young farmers use everyday for work.
Teams are made up of 4 individuals with at least one male and one female aged 15 years and over.
Teams are tasked with completing a set of 8 agriculture - related challenges within a time limit, and their performance is evaluated based on their skill and competence.
When: Saturday 28th September 2024 from 1:00 pm. Teams to check in at 12:00 pm at the Bunyip Stage for briefing.

How to Enter
Registrations are accepted on the day. Simply download and print the below entry form and present to the Bunyip Stage at 12:00pm for participant briefing. Entry is FREE!

Conditions of Entry:

Entrants must be aged over 15 years.

Teams of four (4) people of mixed gender must be entered.

Teams must include at least one (1) male and one (1) female.

Emphasis is placed on completing each challenge with the best time but more importantly with the correct technique.
- All Competitors must wear a shirt with sleeves (short or long), long pants and closed toe shoes suitable for on-farm practical skills.

The winning Team will be the Team that completes all the challenges correctly, in a safe manner and in the fastest time.

Each Team will have a dedicated judge that watches each challenge of the Competition. The Judge will determine when the team is permitted to move onto the next challenge. The Judge’s decision is final.

The Team will be permitted to progress when each challenge has been completed correctly and safely.

The Team must complete every challenge safely and using the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Any errors made during each challenge will result in the Team having to re-do the challenge to complete it correctly, or receive a time penalty, based on the nature of the challenge.

Teams can incur a time penalty for safety breaches.

Teams may be disqualified in the event of a multiple safety breaches and/or dangerous activity affecting Competitors, Officials or spectators.

The committee reserves the right to exercise their discretion with respect to final competitor numbers and selection of competitors.

Stacking bales of hay or wool

Water challenge
